I just went out and measured the 2520, and 2510 while I was at it. They are the same. Yes, they are 2 7/8" axles. You might get about 8" of axle at the most if the wheels are rolled way in. A little more if you removed the push bolts. I suppose the whole effort would be easier with tires narrower than 15.5. I was thinking the same thing, but ended up with wide spaced clamp on duals, spaced for 30" rows.
