Think what dealerships have to pay for special tools. Especially since so many tools are "automatic ship" and Deere automatically ships to you and bills you for essential special tools when you sell some new machine for the first time. Mostly, it's an overhead issue and the expense necessary to keep tools made and in stock to adjust clutches that haven't been built for 20 years is pretty high. Obviously, with fewer and fewer dealers, they don't sell many Perma-Clutch tool spacers. Many special tools can be fabricated by machine shops relatively cheaply if you have a print or existing tool for them to go by. But of course their time is money too, and they may not be much cheaper to have made than to buy.
