There were a few field installed upgrades that by now might have made it into your '60', so which manual to use could be tricky. When you are ready, take some pictures for us to look at and that can change which book you buy, and how you go about the helix repair/adjustments, etc.
Also, I have both the old and new manuals for P/S, and I know I am in the minority here, but if you read, read, read, until you understand it, the I&T book in this case is actually pretty good, in fact I'd say well good enough for the job.
Now, that said...what is the problem(s) with your power steering system? I like to break it down into three system components: pump assy, actuator valve, and pedestal group. You can actually do fine operating on them one at a time, or all at once. I have seen many that did not leak but would not otherwise function, fixed in an afternoon by reworking a few points in the actuator valve and making a few critical adjustments.
