Like the others said there are some good brand name equivalents to use. The cheaper oil does cause more noise and brake chatter on later tractors and more leaks too in my experience. Mixing them can cause more problems. If just for a few antiques you don't use often any oil is going to be better than the dirty crud that was probably in it with water and all. If for a fleet of working machines you can order it for much less per gallon in bulk through JD by the barrel when ordering it early or on dealer booking sales. We were always able to get it from JD dealer for less than other local brand name distributors. If you don't use that kind of volume you aren't saving enough to worry about and just trading some change for quality.
