How do I lock out the PTO on JD 185 Hydro

I am trying to replace the belt for the hydromatic drive and need to remove the mower deck pulley and PTO clutch to access the pulley for the drive unit. When I try to remove the bolt holding the mower deck pulley and clutch the engine turns....anyone know how to do this? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, the ren
