I have just fully drained my powertrol system in conjunction with replacing the powershaft clutch lubricating pump seals in my 730D. Does any one know for certain if I can substitute tractor hydraulic fluid for the original spec engine oil that the manual calls for as the previous poster points out? I am wondering about compatability of the tractor fluid with traces of the engine oil. I don't imagine tractor hydraulic fluid existed in the day these tractors were made. Would think that tractor hydraulic fluid today would be the logical choice for the powertrol system.
