My goal with the new tubes is to prevent any water from getting into the oil. So whatever is correct to achieve that goal I want to do. As for the correct police... I'm not to worried about them. They're not going to be taking off any valve covers or heads while I am around! Besides, to be "correct" wouldn't I need to find original steel tubes??? :) I think I will take your suggestion and expand the tubes as recommended!
