When did he add the turbo? The oil consumption problem probably stems from improper break-in, or something that was wrong with the engine from day one. It's hard to say just what caused it. However, for this thing to keep up with a 4440, which I find a little hard to believe, but oh well, it would have to be cranked up pretty hard. The 4230 has the 6404 engine (404 cubes), vs. the 6466 (466 cubes) of the 4440. There is no comparison in terms of low-end torque. I would be a little leery of any 4230 turboed and turned up like that. If you want a tractor to do the work of a 4440, my advice would be to buy a 4440.
