I'm looking at a #8W mower to use with my MT. It'll connect fine at the drawbar. I'm interested in how to raise and lower the cutter bar since the MT doesn't have a remote cylinder and the 8W was designed for one. I know the #5 had a hook-up to the rock shaft via a cable as one means of raising and lowering the cutter bar. How easy or difficult would it be to rig such a system for the 8W with my MT? What would I need to do? Would I be better off trying to find this setup from a #5 (if I can)? I assume the rockshaft would pull the cutter bar to the down position and that the spring on it would raise it back up -- is that an accurate assumption? I'll get a manual for it if I buy the mower. Wanted to ask some questions before purchase. Thanks!!

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
