Check the home position of the knotters. If the needle bail crank arm is AHEAD of the imaginary line between the knotter shaft and link's pivot pin on the needle bail, the knotter brake will not consistently hold the knotter & needles no matter how tight it is. Find this adjustment in your manual and carefully check it. I find a maladjusted knotter home position to be the single greatest cause of random shearbolt failures.
