Jay (red-n-green) If you're miising bales when changing twine , I think you'll find that you are joining the bales using the wrong knot. A square knot will sometimes fail. If the knot is tied by crossing the ends opposite to a suare knot , the knot will hold. Don't know how to express it any other way. If you tie an ordinary square knot then test it by pushing the two strings towards each other , the knot will loosen. The older NH baler manuals showed the correct knot while newer manuals don't.
