Gotta disagree with you on this one, Paul. In my experience, the windrow makes the bale. If the windrow is too skimpy or big the baler won't perform properly. I use a pair of IH 35's that I rebuilt and can make some nice windrows. We just baled for a neighbor that raked with a 12 wheel V-rake and it was a chore. Too many slugs and the windrow was way to big so we had to drive over the field a couple of times to get all of the hay. I am intrigues by the rotary rakes and plan to examine them this winter. Jim
