I'm only familiar with what is called semi-mounted plows of that size - the lower lift arms lift the front of the plow, and the rear has a wheel with a cylinder on it to lift & lower the rear. Was this a truely 3-point fully mounted 5 bottom plow, or was it a semi-mount? Soil conditions make so much difference. Here in the clay of southern MN where the ground is heavy & sticky, a 5-18 plow needs at least 130 hp, more would be appreciated.... I used to pull a 4-16 plow with a very strong 85 hp tractor, and made it work too hard doing it. I now pull a 4-18 plow with my 135 hp tractor - and there are conditions that make it smoke with that load! --->Paul
