You know I don't really care if I sell this disk or not. But you farm or are you weekend warriors? Since when does a 45 Hp tractor pull a 10 or 12 foot disc? And most likely his tractor is not 45 drawbar Hp either it is probably engine or pto hp. And thus the drawbar hp is not going to be enough for anything larger than an 8 footer. I was just putting in my 2 cents from experience and not what I assume will work. It is going to take wieght to pull a larger disk. If he does not have ballast in the tires he will spin 4 wheel drive or not. This tractor does not weigh enough for 12 feet so why get one and work on it to make it where you might can use it. Buy what you need now and if you get a bigger tractor later than get a bigger disk. They sell them every day. Like I said in my other post I pull a light IH 37 with 16 inch blades that is 13'. I pull it with a 3010 with a cab and fluid in the tires. This means that my tractor is about 8000lbs. A zetor of this hp without ballast and wieghts will be about 4500 or maybe 5000lbs. I also pull a 16' IH480 that has 20" blades with a 2675 MF that is 105 hp. And this thing is about 15,000lbs with the loader and ballast. And I would not want to pull anything any bigger with this one. The bigest factor in machine breakdowns is poor upkeep. And the second is trying to pull something that your tractor is too small for. Since there have been several answer to your question and noone seems to agree, you should call a local dealer and ask what they would recommend.

Fire in the Field A hay fire is no laughing matter-well, maybe one was! And a good life-lesson, too. Following World War II many farm boys returned home both older and wiser. One such man was my employer the summer I was sixteen. He was a farmer by birth and a farmer by choice, and like many returning soldiers, he was our silent hero: without medals or decorations, but with a certain ability to survive. It was on his farm that I learned to use the combination hand clutch and brake on a John D
