The place I work with is a one man Amish repair shop and machinery dealer that speclizes in the Horse drawn mowers, the McCormick No. 7 & No. 9 and Deere Big 4 mowers. He is not set up to be able to do shipment of parts. I live about 50 mile away from him and have bought parts from him and he has bought machinery from me. He is just outside of Berne, In. if you are close enough to make a drive. His cousin also deals in machinery and speclizes in the steel wheel horse drawn hay rakes, this last year I supplied him with a dozen of them plus some other machinery this past year. Lot more to get ready this year. Then there is anouther Amish dealer in the area but he is higher in price. He would ship parts tho. The first and third places rebuild those mowers. I know they put new seals in them when needed but I think they are probably a new type to last better. I do have the parts books for those mowers so when I get up there sometime in the next month I could ask about the parts for you if you are interested but shipping on some of the items would be prohibitave. If there are any Amish comunities around you there should be some place like these. Not many of the mowers were built with 6' bars but that is what they prefer so the one I found out is making then by using 2 of the 5' bars and cutting and welding them together. And you cannot tell they were done that way. They convert them to sealed bearings on the pitmans. What I am saying is there should be places to get things a lot cheaper than like TSC or Rual King. Side rake teeth I can buy from them for less than half the price those store want. If you want to work thru me on those items email me at lesfarm@watchtv.net. I also know a shop that makes the straight roller bearings in any size needed, standard is cheaper but he can do any size needed. Says he can cut gears as well ,also Amish.
