we sold Morris equipment as a sideline a sold a nuber of rod weeders we kept a new 36' on and used it for years I liked the way it killed weeds, if they went over the rod they were dead but you do need to have well loosened ground to use them we moboard plowed every spring then and it worked well, they even make a very nice seed bed for planting but we found here when planting winter wheat they lifted the cheat grass seeds up to perfect depth for growing along with the planted wheat causing issues so we quit using it, but then about 20 years ago we removed the rods and installed some cutting edges and made a leveler out of it I like it a lot maybe even better than before cnt
