A friend gave me this plow. I want to use it to do some plowing this fall and get it set up, then work on restoring it this winter.
Trouble is while he had it and was plowing his garden he hit something hard and it unhooked but the rope tied to his seat didn't and he said it broke something. Well I can see where the cast piece is broken. Went and looked at a part's plow, same part I need, but broken too. Looked at a co-worker's two JD #52's and both of them are broke in the same spot too, so what gives? The co-workers plow, one lifts most of the time but not all the time, the other one doesn't lift hardly at all he says.
It's part #D882-A, page 18 in the part's manual.
If anyone has a picture from their plow with this not broken, I would like to see it! Thanks!
