Back for more help guys.
Tried the old McCormick binder out at the weekend, and it Did work!..........but the chain on the bullwheel wanted to ride up on the sprockets. Tried tightening up the idler a bit (it has spring tension) and it was OK for a while, then in a thick green patch, the chain let go. I am looking to replace the drive chain, but the book says it takes; "...58 links of # 72 1/2 steel chain"
I called the local old farm supply place, and he has never heard of number 72 1/2 chain. Any ideas if the IH number crosses with anything else?? Thanks for your time!
