You have a slightly odd share. It's 14 inch. It shows up in parts merchandiser catalogs from the late 1950's. It was originally factory hard surfaced according to my book. It should be a quick-attach share that uses an an eyebolt towards the center of the share and a 3/8 bolt toward the outside edge to attatch it. It subs to IH p/n 465 993 R91, (1984 superseded parts catalog) which is also hard surfaced. This number was available a couple of years back (I bought some, 2006 maybe?) from C-IH, but was NLA last I checked, even though it shows up when doing a parts search Messick's (C-NH dealer) website. The 0-554 series were the "Regular" shares, and any of the O-554 series shares will work, and be the easiest to find. OD554-51 still shows up on Messick's website also. Obsolete depots still have some of these: O-580 is an alfalfa share, O-574's are rice pattern/blackroots, O-566 is cobblestone, and O-670's are listed as 16" shares for 14" bottoms (overcuts). These should all "bolt up". Whatever you come up with, keep them all the same. Happy plowing, Andrew Ginter.

Today's Featured Article - Farmall 460: That's My Girl - by LeAnn R. Ralph. How many sounds can you think of that are as familiar to you as your own breathing? What about the hum of your refrigerator? Or the thump of your clothes dryer? Maybe the engine of your car? You hear those sounds every day, and you don't think much about them, do you. I can think of a few common, ordinary sounds in my daily life, too. ... [Read Article]
