I use filler plates with my 95. I get about as clean a sample as you can ask for from a combine. Also, I have never taken the filler plates out of any John Deere cylinder/walker combine I've ever used. From the 95 thru to a 9550 Sidehill, hitting every series in between. We put a couple of golf balls in the cylinder to help knock the dust out. We believe the filler plates help the cylinder with the flywheel effect in soybeans, but can't prove that I guess.
