I had a bearing go out inside the feederhouse upper variable speed pulley. This pulley would be at the "hinge" point of the feederhouse and combine. Inside of the pulley is the sealed ball bearing, a needle bearing, and another sealed ball bearing. The inside ball bearing went out. Occurred two years ago also. Most all of the 4400's, 4420's, 6600's have had this done. You can see where the pulley moves inward and rubs on the combine frame. First time the bearing went out it wore through the shield that covers the brake lines/wiring/etc. I think the shaft that comes outward from the combine is worn some where the needle bearing rides. This allows the big pulley to not always be square and puts additional force on the inward ball bearing. When you look at a parts diagram it looks as if the shaft is a stub shaft. Anyone ever replaced this shaft that the big pulleys ride on??? Thank you. Andy
