All ploughs sold here are "reversible" from 2 to 12 furrows. You start on one side of the field, backwards & forwards, and finish off with the headlands. NO dead or open furrows, NO marking out in lands. Simple and fast.
They do practice "no-till or min-till" with cultivators in the grain farming areas BUT they are starting to have persistant weed problems which can only be solved by ploughing.
Ploughing buries surface trash and manure, so no carry over of pests & diseases from year to year.
