I had a similiar problem a couple years ago on the front set of bars on mine on the right row. It would run fine until you hit the row and then the bars would stop turning or slow down and then the spindles would wrap with cotton. Turned out the top carrier bearing was going and the whole drum assembly had dropped down and was rubbing on the bottom assembly.Once I got that figured out(with the help over the phone from a 30 yr veteran IH mech.) it took about $50 in parts and 3 or 4 hrs of my labor and I was back in the field. The old 782II was made the last year of their run but it will still pick as good as any $250,000 picker.Just way slower.Haven't fired mine up yet this year. With the drought it doesn't really matter that much.Waiting on the ins. adjuster to come look at 32 acs. that is a total loss.Only leaves me with 16 acres to pick this yr.Waiting on a killing frost right now. Maybe this will help.
