Hi,
I was lucky enough to pick up this bolens 1050 with implements and a hydraulic system last week. It was not running when I picked it up and apparently had not been running for some time:
As usual with a lot of mowers I took the carb completely apart and cleaned it and cleaned the points which are located in a small compartment behind the carb (and of course very difficult to get to without removing carb).
I was able to to get her running. However I have a misfire - it is irregular and just a single 'bop' now and then and is throughout the power range - any ideas what this might be? I actually have a new set of points that came with it but no new condesor although there is one on an old set of points. What is the usual symptoms of a condensor going out? If it was dirty points would it not be a more regular misfire as it is a single cylinder engine?
I replaced spark plug and have a fully charged battery.
Also anyone know a source for the air filter on this engine which is a wisconsin TR10D - I have found some companies on the web which sell them but it looks so generic that I wonder if there is an aftermarket filter available at the local store if I have the right part number.
