Yours sure looks a lot better than mine. Mine is probably early 70's vintage, came with the 6 hp Tec engine. What was wierd was the engine had been packed with the usual Tech dipstick for checking oil, unfortunately not the Troy Built dipstick which is different to give a higher oil level for the severe engine tilt when tilling deep. So it ran "dry" even though the dipstick showed "full" and siezed the rod to the crank. I did rebuild that engine, but soon put the 7 Hp Kohler on it. Bottom line....that tiller has worked hard and has never had the gear case rebuilt. It leaks a lot from the wheel seals. I know there is a very expensive brass worm gear inside which really needs oil. So far my solution has been to use a Farmoyl product which is made for gear boxes that leak badly. It is a cross between grease and gear oil. So far it works with no problem.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
