I have a 266-H with a K61 in it. Trying to climb a steep hill it did nothing then all of a sudden jerked a little and started climbing. After that it started to leak slowly. Dealer wants about $1800 for a replacement K61 for my 266-H. I did some searches online and found several online warehouses selling K62 tranny for $150 to $200+. I did some measurements and the 4 mounting bolts (2 on each side of the transaxle) use the same spacing, axle shaft size and axle length as the K61. I bought a new overstock K62 specified for a JD L100 series tractor for a little over $200. I had to get a splined input pulley from JD. I will have to modify things a little to install it but I don't think it will be a huge undertaking. Hope you can fix yours. If yours is a Toro 260 series and you don't want to fix it and you are in or around Minnesota I might be interested in it for spare parts.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
