Bolens had two wheeled garden tractors in the early 1920s. The company was owned by Gilson at one time, and later Food Machinery and Chemical Corportation (FMC - LinkBelt). Starting around the 1940s Bolens made light-duty two wheel tractors for homeowners and heavy duty for large garden/seedbed operations. 1920s tractors were called Power Hoes and/or All Purpose. Later, ca. 1940s and 1950s, there was a 1 1/2 horse Power-Ho, 2 1/2 horse Power-Ho Deluxe, and the more heavy duty Bolens Huski Gardener. Western Auto sold a few relabelled as "Wizard." Sounds like you've got a Gardener? They came in regular and Hi-boy. Both had separate chains and clutches for each wheel. Hi-boy used a Briggs BR6 engine with 6-1 gear reduction. Other Gardeners were rated 4.3 horsepower and tested at 3 horse, mostly Wisconsin engines; models included B6A4 with 4" X 12" tires, B6A5 with 5" X 12" tires, and the B6A20/B6A5S with 6" X 12" tires.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
