I've got a 1991 Deutz Allis 1716 Hydro lawn tractor. This is the last new mower my father bought before passing away in 93. I bought this machine from my mother and mow 1 acre with it. I plan on keeping this mower for sentimental reasons. I'm also wondering if anyone sees any collectibility in this machine as time passes on. I know Simplicity and these machines over the years are all the same thing but I just don't see too many of the spring green Deutz Allis mowers around anymore. This one is as loaded as we could get it. It has electic lift and hydro with a 52" deck and 16 HP Briggs. Does anyone know what value on this machine may be now. After next season I'm probably going to get a new deck before they become unavailable and decals for it. Right now it's pretty nice with the usual wear and tear. I tried to buy a new Agco last season with the same motor but they had just discontinued that motor. I do like these motors for smoothness but they had a bad starter problem with the plastic gear wearing out rather quickly or even sticking in the ring gear when starting. Anyway, I'm interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on these tractors good or bad.
