I will try another posting. I have a 1982 Craftsman Tractor. It has a 20 HP Onan engine and I have established that the tractor is actually a Roper. My transaxle has packed it in and rather than rebuild it, I would like to throw a used one in. I cannot prove what type of transaxle it is. Everyone tells me it is a peerless but I bought the manual for peerless transaxles and mine is not there. It may be a peerless, but it isn't included in the manual. I can go to the Fridgidaire website and type in part numbers from my Sears manual and have the parts appear as a stock item. Since Fridgidaire bought out Roper which bought out AYP, is my transaxle still a peerless or something else? It has a 3 forward, 1 reverse gearing with Hi and Lo. There are no markings on the transaxle or casing.
