Thanks for the replies. I'm going try the valve again this time letting JD180 run longer and\or drive\mow with it till it empties the line.
I let the gas go old over the winter and had to unstop the fuel filter to get it running. I took filter off and blew backward though it and got it running. While doing that I drained 1/8 gallon into a can pretty quickly. Not wanting do do that again, I thought the valve would be handy if it worked as designed. The pliers and clamps are good ideas in a pinch :?
I've mowed twice with it (same gas). It's not starting very well so I'm starting by cleaning up the fuel system, new filter and lines if needed.
