I'm working on a portable welder that has a kohler K241P, spec# 46428d serial# 4348537. It will start and run but sometimes sputter and die. I put my spark tester on and started right up. The spark is sometimes hit and miss and on acceleration it will die(lose spark). I have replaced the points and condensor, the coil under the flywheel, new spark plug and plug wire. I disabled the kill switch. I have the same problem. No change at all. I have heard about magnets in the flywheel getting weak but have never experienced it. My customer says his father bought this welder new in 1972 and has been used quite a bit on the farm but always cared for. It looks good. Sorry for the long post but I am at a loss on what to do. Can anyone help with this.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
