Excellent. Keep an eye on the rear axle nut issue mentioned below. You might be able to remedy it before any damage is done. I would not mess with it now but if it ever starts to come loose, retighten it with loctite on threads.
I bought a 1995 LazerZ, 60" with a bad crankshaft(CH22s) for $500(way too much). After I bought it, I found other people with same issue with the crankshaft online. I tried locating a used one but none to be found. I shelled out the cash for a new one and spent about $500 rebuilding engine(new rings, connecting rods, lifters, oil pump, gaskets, and crankshaft). This year, I replaced the blades and lever linkages for better control. Previous blades were for a different machine and never fit the shafts correctly. Ever since we started using it, one drive pump was weak/slow. It turned out to be the loose ball joints on the lever linkages and a loose bolt on the hydraulic control for that side.
My nephews fight over who gets to mow the 2+ acres. The 12 year old loves the machine. The engine is a little noisey like a rod knock but everything looked ok internally. I think the previous owner cranked it with the sump off and caused the cam bearing to be oblong. Or, it is the exhaust "tap, tick" like on headers for cars. I told my nephew to drive it til it blows up and I will find a better engine for it.
