I bought a Cub Cadet 1711 a couple years ago that had a KT17 Hydro in it . The first time i used it to mow my yard (which has banks in it) the engine blew sky hi . The inside of the engine is trashed . By asking a lot of questions 7 studying info off Google , I learned that Cub Cadet engineering dept made a very bad mistake in their engine designs . They used an oil slinger system instead of an oil pump & filtering system . The even sent out warnings to dealers to advise owners not to run them on hilly areas because the oil wouldn't get to the crank, rods & bearing causing major damage . The guy that sold it to me didn't tell me anything at all & chucled when I called & told him about it . So, I hope you don't experience the same issue . God bless , Ken
