If the engine is original it will be a cast iron Tecumseh 12 hp (HH120 or a Sears number) they use a Walbro LME carb not that easy to find but they come up on E bay regularly, if you have the carb it can be rebuilt, kits are available and if the carb body and throttle shaft are badly worn the is a fellow, Mark Hare that makes throttle shafts and bushing or you can send your carb to him and he will rebuild it and it will come back like new, I tried getting on his site but it must be down today, Goggle carb rescue.
