I"m trying to remember how I did mine. Yes, the big coupler links the two transmissions and the smaller one would go from the rear tranny to the rear end. I didn"t use the spacer directly to the left of the big adapter. I had them in but that made the drive line too long and it wouldn"t bolt together. The washers just prevent the couplings from jamming onto the shaft somehow (again, going from a not so good memory). I think the lock washer was just a high tech way to take up some slack in the drive train. Use the washers for sure. You may find that you need the spacers and you may find you don"t. If they came out of there, they must be needed. I added a second tranny and these spacers were new and I found I didn"t need them. In the end, you want to minimize the play and that"s what all of these spacer are about. I"m pretty sure the washers only fit on the shafts so far so your spacer would go between the washer and the coupling.
