Steering gear can be tightened. If I remember right, there is a nut on the bottom that can be tightened. Might be a cotter pin through it. I did it once on a 129, but dont have it here right now to look. Hydro works Ok, but some have a "lundge" problem. I inquired about that on YT and at local dealer. The old mechanics that heve worked on them says that is kind of the nature of those eary hydraulic tractor. The speed isn't constant. Seems like it would speed up when you dont want to...dont go near the pond, near the side of a car, etc.....
