Hi Round me in Manitoba Canada that"s a 500 to $1000 tractor depending actually how nice it is and how bad you want it!. If the motor needs pump/ Injector / machine shop work, go less than the $1000. you will spend quite a bit on it with parts and shop time. The market on this old iron has dropped in the last while. They are still a pretty common tractor. Maybe they just didn"t sell well in your area. Basically you got to buy it because you want it, Not spend $5000 on buying/ restoring it, and think your gonna see it and a profit back selling it on. I used to do them and sell to acreage guys. The last super major 5000 I had was sold for $3000 painted and all working/ good tires, 3 years ago that was a 4500 - $5000 unit. This past year I stopped doing them for re sale. I could not afford to buy them do the work and give them away at 2500 if I could find a buyer, the market dropped that bad round here. Now I just buy them to fill a gap in my collection or for parts I or other local guys might need. I seem to be the phone and ask guy in this area for fordson major help or parts the wreckers don"t have. Regards Robert

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
