I bought a 1959 Fordson Dexta off a Dealers back lot it had been setting there a few years. He said it was a trade in and he had no Idea what all it needed. Well I plunked down my $350.00 and he had a worker help load it on the trailer. I got it home put a battery in it Checked the water and oil put fuel in it and it started. I sounded good smoked leaked fuel. None of the gauges worked so we shut it down and started repairs Hood, Fenders, radiator, fuel lines, lights, gauges, key switch, paint, Change oil and filters! Thinking we had everything ready we put the 501 Ford mower on it heading for the field the oil pressure kept dropping from 40# to about 8# and the rear main seal was leaking. How hard is it to rebuild the engine, replace the cam bearings, replace oil pump, replace rear main seal? Thanks to all!
