Hi you could have either tractor on a 63 as that was the change over year( give us a s/n and I could check for you. The difference in pto speed comes with motor revs on the early Super/Majors 540 pto speed comes at around 1200 rpm and i think it is 1600 rpm on the later ones. on the old one she is not much over idle for 540. 540 stuff still works I used an old major on our mower for years until i swapped over to a new super just don't rev it flat out!or clock it with a tach on the shaft to find throttle pos if the tacks not working. all the lower revs do is affect power and forward speed ratios.
