The manual transmission with 4 low and 4 high is generally called an 8 speed. And the 10 speed powershift is called a Select O Speed. I don't know where the select o matic term came from but it's not Ford. As for your pto, take an 8' 2X6 and wedge it into the 3 point linkage and pry against the pto shaft and see if you can stop it with the pto off. If you can stop it that way it means that your pto brake is shot. If you can not stop it it means something else. But try that and post back. Ps, Welcome to the board.
