Hello David , 6.16 ratio is for 8 speed tractors , 6.67 ratio is for Select-o-speed tractors there is NO variations . 7.17 is for 3500 Industrial tractors ONLY . Yes the Entire Rear end assembly from the 2000/2600 or 3000/3600 will bolt on to the 3500 transmission BUT it is SMALLER and WEAKER that is why it is different . The 3500 Industrial Rear center section is LARGER and Thicker steel , the axle tubes are LARGER diameter , the axle shafts are LARGER diameter and why you may ask because it is INDUSTRIAL and it designed to carry a 3000lb BACKHOE 2000/3000 tractors are not but it will . The real question will be for how long will it last before you break it in half . So do your self a favor find the 3500 parts fix it right the first time so you don't break it half later on from doing it wrong now . If it did not need to be that way Ford would not have done it that way . Thanks Tony
