This solenoid was ordered from a tractor supply and the box is labled NCA 11450A(the correct number for an NAA) and 1100-0216 and has only one small terminal. If it starts with the push button there must be some way to wire it to work from the starter switch.
The power to activate the coil is picked up internal to the solenoid from one of the 2 large terminals.........connect battery to wrong large terminal & it will not activate. If those 2 cables are wrong/reversed, a voltmeter at the small terminal will show nothing. If correct, voltmeter will show battery voltage.
Royce already said same, but I am emphasizing it.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
