Bill, Yes fuel gauge on the left, temp on right. Diesel can be very old - like even 10 years and still run fine. How long has it been since the tractor was run? I usually give mine about 20% throttle to start it when it is cold. Once it coughs to life immediately throttle down to idle and let it warm up for a minute or so. Can't remember which light is oil pressure warning and which is generator. Both should go out immediately after the engine starts though. 4000 is a very good, very reliable machine.
