I recently bought a Ford tractor. The guy I bought it from said it is an older 4000 before Ford squared the hood but I am trying to verify that. Behind the starter it has 81-D stamped in and below that is a string of other numbers but they are tough to make out. Does the 81-D mean anything?
At this point I don't have the tractor but if additional info is needed I will get that once I have possession of the tractor.
BTW, it has a Ford 730 loader on it also. At this point I'm not sure what I will do with the tractor. I may fix it up or just part it out. As I understand it the SOS tranny doesn't work but everything else does, but that has to be verified.
