Before you attempt to bypass the solenoid make sure the trans is in Neutral. Then confirm the trans is in Neutral. Then verify that the trans is in Neutral. Now that you know the trans is in Neutral you can bypass the solenoid by connecting one end of a jumper cable (red or black- it doesn't matter) to the battery terminal that is connected to one of the large solenoid posts. If your tractor is still 6V, Positive ground it will be the Negative post. If someone has done a 12V conversion it will probably be the Positive post. Then touch the other end of this same jumper cable to the post on the starter. Does it turn over?
