Depending on what pump you have, there is a vented plug on top of the cylinder next to the ram not to confuse with one of the bolts that holds it together. Sometimes the solenoids aren't grounded well or worn out. There is a Meyers website where you can download free troubleshooting guides for your particular pump. I always keep a couple of solenoids on hand. Hope this helps.
