Thanks Guys, I appreciate your help. I guess I just don't understand what happened. It had been running fine and all of a sudden it's not. It seems that the common sense approach would be the stat since they are either open or closed. The water pump/ fan belt is adjusted to about a 1/2 inch deflection and in decent shape. The fan shroud is in place. I'll keep investigating. For me this is the fun part, working on the old girl.
