Sean in PA, thanks for your help again. I finally found the adjusting turnbuckle buried at the bottom of the front compartment. I heard too many stories as a kid of farmers having an arm torn off by a PTO, so I was nervous about the spinning hydraulic pump linkage. I tried making the adjustments with the engine off, but that turned out to be a mistake. If you turn the turnbuckle too far in the wrong direction, the wheels turn right, the turnbuckle mostly disappears under the radiator, and it's impossible to manually turn the wheels. I never did find a happy medium. Either the wheels try to turn left a little bit, or they turn completely right and can't be controlled manually at all. From what I read on another tractor forum, this seems to be a problem with this kind of steering mechanism.
