I replaced my fuel pump on my 3400 recently, and it wasn't too difficult. Of course, I already had the hood panels, nose cone, and radiator off for other repairs. That being said, the gravity feed is less than ideal. The electric fuel pump seems to be a bit of work also. By the time you locate a pump that will work, plumb it in and wire it you probably could have just replaced the oem pump. Fleabay has aftermarket replacements pretty cheap. I have a tendency to dislike gerry-rigging things though. Just my 2 cents, and I hope you find a solution that works for you.
