Rod, This has been discussed here before. On the diesels yes - 158 vs 175 ci. The 2/3000 gassers use the same 158 ci engine. As best I can remember the 3000 is governed about 200 rpm faster and possibly larger jetting in the carb. As for differences between the two models there were more of them between the early and late models. Early 3000 had heavier front bolster, center axle and knees. 3000 had heavier square rear axles vs round on 2000. Could not get differential lock on round axles. Later model 2/3000 were so much alike that I don't know why they bothered making the two of them
